Therapy for Anxiety
Anxiety is a natural stress response to a perceived threat. However, certain experiences may contribute to the persistent presence of this stress response, resulting in persistent and inescapable feelings of worry, stress, and fear. This anxious state can lead to poor sleep patterns, irritability, pre-occupations with small stressors, catastrophizing, isolation, etc. Physical symptoms that manifest due to anxiety include gastrointestinal issues, headaches, neck pain, reduced mobility, etc. Anxiety is one of the most common mental health struggles today.
Therapy for anxiety can vary depending upon the individual and their anxiety presentation. Common anxiety treatment modalities include CBT, ACT and somatic experiencing. Your therapist will work with you to determine what modality and interventions work best for you and your life.
