AuDHD Therapy in Georgetown
Support When ADHD and Autism Overlap

We offer neurodivergent-affirming AuDHD therapy in person at our Georgetown office and virtually across Ontario.

Understanding AuDHD
AuDHD is a term people often use when someone experiences both ADHD and autism. It is not a separate diagnosis, but it can be a helpful way to describe how these two neurotypes can overlap and shape daily life.
ADHD and autism can sometimes pull in different directions. A child or teen may crave routine but struggle to follow it, need predictability but seek novelty, or feel socially interested while also becoming overwhelmed by sensory input, transitions or peer pressure.
AuDHD may show up through:
- Emotional regulation challenges, meltdowns or shutdowns
- Sensory overwhelm, strong preferences or difficulty with transitions
- Trouble with focus, organization, task initiation or follow-through
- School stress, social pressure, anxiety or burnout
- A mix of needing structure and feeling restricted by too much structure
At Peaks and Valleys Therapy, we support children and teens with autism, clients with ADHD, and families who are trying to better understand how overlapping needs may be affecting home, school and relationships.
For adults, AuDHD therapy may also be helpful when ADHD has been diagnosed later in life and autism traits or sensory needs are part of the broader picture. Therapy can offer support for self-understanding, burnout, executive functioning, emotional regulation and practical coping strategies.

AuDHD Therapy at Peaks and Valleys Therapy in Georgetown
At Peaks and Valleys Therapy in Georgetown, we offer neurodivergent-affirming support for clients navigating the overlap between ADHD and autism. Our therapists work with children and teens with autism, children, teens and adults with ADHD, and adults who are exploring or adjusting to a late ADHD diagnosis.
AuDHD can affect emotional regulation, sensory needs, executive functioning, school stress, family relationships, self-esteem and burnout. We adapt therapy to each client’s brain, body, communication style and goals, so support feels respectful, practical and realistic.
Children with AuDHD
Children with both ADHD and autistic traits may struggle with big emotions, sensory overwhelm, transitions, focus, impulsivity or school stress. Therapy can use creative, play-based and regulation-focused support to help children express themselves and better understand their needs.
Teen Therapy for AuDHD
Teens with AuDHD may feel pulled between wanting connection and needing space, craving structure and resisting pressure, or trying to keep up while feeling overwhelmed. Therapy can support identity, emotional regulation, peer stress, school demands, burnout and self-advocacy.
Adults with ADHD and Autism Traits
Some adults come to therapy with a clear ADHD diagnosis and begin noticing autistic traits, sensory needs or lifelong patterns that also shape their experience. Therapy can help with self-understanding, executive functioning, burnout, relationships, boundaries and daily coping.
Late-Diagnosed ADHD
Many adults are diagnosed with ADHD later in life after years of feeling overwhelmed, disorganized, burned out or misunderstood. Therapy can help you make sense of past experiences, reduce shame, and explore tools that fit your brain and daily life.
Parent Support for AuDHD Families
Parents may need support understanding behaviour, sensory needs, meltdowns, shutdowns, school stress or emotional regulation. Therapy can help caregivers respond with more confidence, compassion and practical strategies at home.
